If you previously connected ChargeAutomation to your Stripe account using a legacy connect extension, Stripe may prompt you to update your connection to the latest Stripe App.

🟣Why is an update required?

Stripe periodically updates its platform architecture and app permission models. Updating to the latest ChargeAutomation Stripe App ensures:

  • Uninterrupted Payment Processing: Securely collect accommodation balances, upsells, and fees.

  • Security Deposit & Pre-Authorization Management: Seamlessly hold, capture, or auto-release guest deposits.

  • Enhanced Security & Permissions: Ensure all communication between ChargeAutomation and Stripe follows the latest compliance standards.


🟣Step-by-Step: How to Update the Stripe App

  1. Log in to Stripe:

    Sign in to your Stripe Dashboard using the administrator account connected to ChargeAutomation.

  2. Navigate to App Settings:

    • Go to Settings (gear icon in the top right).

    • Under the Connect or Apps section, select Installed Apps / App Settings (or look for the notification banner prompting an extension update).

  3. Locate ChargeAutomation:

    Find ChargeAutomation listed under your connected apps or extensions.

  4. Review & Update Permissions:

    • Click Update next to ChargeAutomation.

    • Review the requested permissions (such as payments, customers, refunds, and webhooks).

    • Click Approve / Update to confirm and apply the new app version.

  5. Verify Connection in ChargeAutomation:

    • Return to your ChargeAutomation Dashboard.

    • Navigate to Settings > Payment Gateway.

    • Confirm that your Stripe status displays as Connected and active.
