You can easily offer a Damage Waiver as an add-on during the check-in process by setting it up as an Upsell item in ChargeAutomation.

Follow these simple steps to configure your Damage Waiver:

Step 1: Create the Upsell

  1. Navigate to the Upsell section in your ChargeAutomation dashboard.

  2. Click the Create Upsell button.

Step 2: Select the Damage Waiver Template

  1. From the list of available templates, choose the Damage Waiver Template.

Step 3: Configure Pricing and Calculations

  1. Proceed to update the price of the waiver.

  2. Customize how the price is calculated using the Pricing Model settings (e.g., flat fee, per night, per guest).

Step 4: Automate Security Deposit Voiding

If you require a security deposit and wish to automatically void it when the guest purchases the Damage Waiver, you can enable the below setting. The timing of the voiding action depends on your payment setup:

Scenario A: Damage waiver instant purchase

If you have Auto Payments enabled, the security deposit will be automatically voided immediately once the guest successfully purchases the Damage Waiver.

Scenario B: Damage waiver by Request

If you set the Damage Waiver to be "by request," the setting to automatically void the Security Deposit will only take effect after you have manually approved the Damage Waiver request.
