How to Disable Your CA Account

Thinking of leaving? We’re here to help.

Written by Cathy Yap

If you need to pause or close your ChargeAutomation account, this article walks you through the process. Before you go, we’ll show you how to safely disconnect your PMS integrations and manage your final billing cycle to ensure a smooth transition.

1. General Account Termination

If you wish to permanently close your account, you should initiate a request through one of the following channels:

  • Support Ticket/Email: Send a written request to the Charge Automation support team.

  • Account Manager: If you have a dedicated account manager, you can communicate your request directly to them.

What happens next:

  • Verification: The team will verify account ownership and check for any outstanding invoices.

  • Processing: Once verified, your account access will be disabled, integrations (like your PMS or Payment Gateway) will be disconnected, and all active automations or guest messaging will be halted.

  • Timing: Termination usually takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle, though immediate deactivation can be requested.

2. Canceling Specific Features or Subscriptions

If you only want to disable specific paid features rather than the entire account, you can manage these in your settings:

  • SMS Plans: To stop SMS notifications, you must remove the SMS billing plan from your subscription settings and deactivate the "via SMS" options in your Guest Journey Editor.

  • Whitelabel/Custom Domains: You can remove a custom domain by reaching out to our customer support team or your account manager.

3. Data Retention

After deactivation, your data is retained for a period consistent with legal requirements and Charge Automation’s data retention policy. If you require immediate deletion of all personal data (GDPR/DSAR request), you must submit a separate Data Deletion Request to the support team.
