Automatic Verification with ID Number Lookup is a feature in ChargeAutomation that goes beyond simple document collection by validating guest ID numbers against global databases and watchlists.

🪪What is ID Number Lookup?

When Automatic Verification is active, the system performs several checks. The ID Number Lookup (CaIdLookupVerified) specifically:

Validates the ID number against global databases.
Checks the ID against watchlists to ensure the guest is not flagged.
Returns a specific true/false flag to your PMS once the check is complete.

How to Enable Automatic Verification

Step #1: Go to Guest Experience>>Guest Journey Editor

Step #2: Find the section for Collect Passport/ID of Guest

Step #3: Configuration

Switch to Automatic: Toggle the setting from "Manual" to Automatic.

Configure Requirements:
- Who is required: Choose between "Only Primary Guest" or "All Guests (Over 18)".
- Nationality Exceptions: You can exclude specific nationalities from automatic verification if needed.

📋Prerequisites & Billing

Stripe Identity Subscription: Enabling "Automatic" verification requires a subscription. You will be prompted to add a payment method if one isn't on file.
Authorization Hold: A $1 authorization is processed when adding a card for this service.
Monthly Billing: Subscriptions for identity verification are billed monthly, not per individual session.

🔎Monitoring Results

You can track the status of the ID Number Lookup in two places:

Booking Detail Page: The "Authority Reporting" or "Verification" status will update to Submitted or Verified.
PMS Sync: If your PMS supports custom fields (like Mews, Guesty, or Hostaway), ChargeAutomation will push the CaIdLookupVerified flag directly to the reservation notes or custom fields
