Setting up ChargeAutomation with NMI
Login to your NMI Account
Generate a Private Security Key
Log into the merchant portal as an admin user.
Navigate to Options → Settings → Security Keys.
Click Add a New Private Key.
Assign the key API permissions when prompted.
🔐 Only users with administrative access can create or manage security keys.
Login to your ChargeAutomation account here chargeautomation.com
Go to Settings >> Gateway Connection and select "NMI" from the dropdown
Fill out the API Key you copied above and click on "Continue".
Important Security Update: By the end of 2026, all merchants are required to transition from username/password authentication to API Key authentication. To ensure a seamless migration, please generate your API Key using the steps above. Once your API Key is entered into ChargeAutomation, the username and password fields should be left blank.
