Why Use the Currency Converter?

If you’ve ever had a guest's payment declined due to currency issues or are frustrated with large currency conversion fees, our Currency Converter is here to help. This feature lets your guests pay in their local currency (e.g., USD), while you, as the host, receive the funds in your preferred currency (e.g., Pesos) without the currency conversion markup from your payment processor. It’s seamless, efficient, and improves the overall guest experience.

What Are the Benefits?

  • Fewer Declined Payments: Guests pay in their local currency, eliminating the confusion that often causes declined cards.

  • Save on Fees: Avoid hefty currency conversion fee markups, get paid in your currency.

  • Host-Friendly: Simply flip the switch and ChargeAutomation does the rest.


How to Enable the Currency Converter

Setting up the Currency Converter is simple. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Ensure You’re on a Paid Plan
    This feature is only available for users on our paid plans. If you’re currently on the free plan, upgrade first to unlock this functionality.

  2. Contact Our Support Team
    Send an email to [email protected] with the subject line: "Enable Currency Converter."
    In your email, include:

    • Your account details (e.g., email or account ID).

    Or contact us via in-app chat.

  3. Wait for Confirmation
    Our team will process your request and enable the feature. Once confirmed you'll need to determine if you want to enable the feature globally, across all properties, or enable it for only select properties.

For All Properties:
If you’d like to enable the Currency Converter globally across all properties, visit your Payment Gateway Connection and enable the global setting.


For Specific Properties:
If you’d like to enable the feature for specific properties, go to the Properties Page and adjust the Payment Gateway Settings for each property individually.

A: This feature is included as part of our paid plans.

Q: Can I enable this for only some of my properties?
A: Absolutely. Just follow the instructions above for specific property setup.

Q: What happens if my payment gateway doesn’t support this feature?
A: Unfortunately, this feature is only available on gateways that support currency conversion. If you’re unsure, contact us, and we’ll confirm compatibility.

Q: Do my guests have to do anything to use this feature?
A: Nope! It’s completely seamless. Guests will automatically see the option to pay in their local currency.
