ChargeAutomation’s Age Check feature ensures guests meet your property’s minimum age requirements.
Once enabled, the system automatically validates dates of birth collected during booking or in the guest portal, enforcing age restrictions for the primary guest, with an option to extend verification to all guests within the booking.
How it works
Guest completes Automatic Identity verification
The system extracts the date of birth (DOB) from the verified document
Age is calculated automatically
The system compares age against the configured minimum threshold
Outcome:
Meets requirement → verification passes
Underage → guest is flagged and blocked
There is no manual DOB input, age is derived directly from verified documents.
Activation & Access
Age Check is an optional feature within Automatic Verification
It requires the client to be on a paid plan
Free plan users will see an upgrade/paywall message
Scope of Application
Only Primary Guest → only the primary guest is checked
All Guests (Over 18) → applies to all eligible guests
How To Enable
Step 1: Locate in the main menu: Guest Experience section> Guest Journey Editor
Step 2: Within Guest Journey Editor, scroll down and click on the small cog to the right of Collect Passport/ID of Guest
Step 3: Configure which ID you want to collect, and choose between collecting from just the Primary or All guests. Choose Automatic, not Manual.
Step 4: Scroll further down. Add any special message you would like the guest to see, or leave blank.
Step 5: Attach the desired Booking Sources from the drop down.
Step 6: Save
Step 7: Toggle ON within the Guest Journey Editor
