💳 How to Create a Reusable Payment Page

Create a reusable payment link to securely collect payments or card authorizations from your guests.

Written by Cathy Yap

Create a reusable payment page that you can share with multiple customers. The same payment link can be used repeatedly to collect payments or authorize a customer's card.

💡 Reusable vs. Single Use Request: A reusable payment page can be shared with multiple customers, while a single use request is intended for a specific payment/customer.

🚀 Create a Reusable Payment Page

1️⃣ Open Reusable Page

From your ChargeAutomation dashboard, go to:

Payment Link → Reusable Page

2️⃣ Click New Payment Link

Then select "No, it's not".

3️⃣You can choose between two options:

💳 Charge

Select Charge when you want to collect a payment from the customer.

The customer's card will be charged for the amount configured in the selected product.

🔐 Authorization

Select Authorization when you want to place a temporary hold on the customer's card without charging it immediately.

This can be useful for security deposits or other pre-authorizations.

4️⃣Select a Product

Under Product, select an existing product or create a new one.

Products allow you to define what the customer is paying for or what amount should be authorized.

Examples:

  • 🧹 Cleaning Fee

  • 🏠 Security Deposit

  • 💰 Additional Stay Charge

  • 🏙️ Tourist Tax

  • 🐶 Pet Fee

  • 🅿️ Parking

  • ✨ Other Services

⚠️ Product is required before you can create the reusable payment page.

5️⃣ Customize Customer Questions

The payment page can collect additional information from your customer.

By default, the following questions are included:

  • 👤 Name — Required

  • 📧 Email — Required

You can click + Add new question to collect additional information.

For example:

  • 📱 Phone number

  • 🔢 Booking/reference number

  • 🏠 Property or unit

  • 📝 Additional information

You can configure the Answer Type for each question based on the information you want to collect.

6️⃣ Add Terms & Conditions

You can use this section to provide important information such as:

  • 💳 Payment and cancellation policies

  • 💰 Refund conditions

  • 🔐 Security deposit terms

  • 🏠 Property or service rules

  • ⚖️ Liability and other legal terms

Make sure your terms are clear and relevant to the payment or authorization being requested.

💡 Tip: Keep your Terms & Conditions up to date and make sure they comply with the laws and regulations applicable to your business.

👀 Preview Your Payment Page

Before creating the page, click: Show preview

Use the preview to check how the payment page will appear to your customers.

Make sure the:

  • Product is correct

  • Payment or authorization option is correct

  • Customer questions are appropriate

  • Information displayed to the customer is accurate

✅ Create the Payment Page

Once everything is configured, click Create page.

🔗 Share Your Reusable Payment Link

After creating the page, you can copy the generated Page URL and share it with your customers.

You can send the link through channels such as:

  • 📧 Email

  • 📱 SMS

  • 💬 Messenger or chat

  • 📲 Other messaging platforms

💡 Important

Because this is a reusable page, you can use the same URL for multiple customers and transactions.

Before sending it to customers, we recommend opening the link yourself and completing a test to make sure everything works as expected.

⚙️ Manage Reusable Pages

Click the three dots (...) under the Action column to manage your payment page:

  • Edit: Update product details, names, or pricing.

  • View Transactions: Review a filtered list of all payments completed through that specific link.

  • Clone: Instantly duplicate a page setup to create similar fees without starting from scratch.

  • View Page: Preview the customer-facing payment screen

  • Copy page link: Copy the URL to your clipboard.

  • QR Code: Generate and download a scannable QR code for on-site or printed use.

  • Delete: Permanently remove the payment page.

💰 View Transactions

Reusable payment pages allow you to track transactions made through the page.

Depending on whether the page is configured for Charge or Authorization, you can view the corresponding payment or authorization transactions.

For Charge transactions, availabe action include:

  • ↩️ Refund the charge

For Authorization transactions, available actions include:

  • ✅ Capture the authorized amount

  • ↩️ Release the authorization

🛍️ Manage Your Products

Products used with reusable payment pages can be managed separately.

You can:

  • ➕ Create products

  • ✏️ Edit products

  • 🗑️ Delete products

  • 💰 Configure the product used for your payment page

Keeping products organized makes it easier to create reusable payment pages for frequently collected charges.

🔐 Payment Gateway Required

To collect payments or authorize cards, make sure you have an active payment gateway connected to your ChargeAutomation account.

ChargeAutomation processes payments through your connected payment provider rather than holding your funds directly.

⚡ When Should I Use a Reusable Payment Page?

A reusable payment page is a good option when you need to collect the same type of payment repeatedly.

Use case

Recommended option

💳 Collect a recurring type of payment

Reusable → Charge

🔐 Security/deposit authorization

Reusable → Authorization

🏠 Collect payment for a specific existing booking

Single Use Request

📩 Send a payment request to one specific guest

Single Use Request

For booking-specific payment requests, use a Single Use Request instead.

ChargeAutomation's one-time flow allows you to associate the payment with an existing booking.
