Overview
The Age Check feature in ChargeAutomation automatically verifies that the primary guest meets a minimum age requirement defined at the property level.
When enabled, the system enforces an age restriction based on the guest’s date of birth collected during the booking or guest portal flow.
How it works
Guest completes Automatic Identity verification
The system extracts the date of birth (DOB) from the verified document
Age is calculated automatically
The system compares age against the configured minimum threshold
Outcome:
Meets requirement → verification passes
Underage → guest is flagged and blocked
There is no manual DOB input—age is derived directly from verified documents.
Activation & Access
Age Check is an optional feature within Automatic Verification
It requires the client to be on a paid plan
Free plan users will see an upgrade/paywall message
Scope of Application
Age Check follows the same scope rules as Automatic Verification:
Only Primary Guest → only main guest is checked
All Guests (Over 18) → applies to all eligible guests
Configuration
On settings:
Go to Guest Journey Editor
Enable "Collect Passport/ID of Guest" and go on settings
Select "Automatic"
Then scroll down till reach
Here you can customize the request as you prefer, then check "Age check" and choose the guest's age needed.
